Can you add a Starlink referral code after purchase?

No — Starlink’s terms require the referred customer to buy the kit through the referral link, so there is no way to attach a code to an order that already exists. There is one narrow edge case, and one consolation prize.

Why it cannot be added retroactively
The referral is registered at the moment the order is placed through the link. Starlink’s published terms state the referred customer “must purchase a Starlink Kit using the unique referral link” — support cannot bolt it on afterwards, and kits from resellers or account transfers never qualify.
The edge case: the 30-day return window
Direct orders from starlink.com can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a hardware refund. Someone who just ordered without a referral could in principle return and re-order through a link — but weigh shipping time and refund processing against one month of standard service before bothering.
Already activated? You still get something
Existing customers get their own referral link in the Starlink app under “Refer Friend”. Every new customer you refer earns you a free month — there is no limit on how many.
